Discover the Timeless Benefits of Becoming a Freemason: Fellowship, Personal Growth, and Community Service.
We all have a natural tendency to club together with people who are like us. However, since the pandemic certainly, and probably even before then, we have been living increasingly isolated lives. It makes meeting people we would consider good friend material challenging. Education and work has separated us from many of those who we knew from childhood, or where we use to live, and we all now find it harder to make new friends and keep a happy social life going. We live in an increasingly divided society, and for many of us, we want to make a difference. Do you know someone for whom life is a desperate day-to-day battle to exist? It’s very unlikely that you do, as we all tend to stick with people who are like us.
Social Activity Promotes Happiness
We know that when we become more divided, we live a less happy life, lose our sense of shared identity and lessen the strong bonds of community. Freemasonry offers a solution for us which enables us to be generous with our time, and if we can afford it charity. We can also make friends, serve our community and those less fortunate. Freemasonry enables us to meet people we wouldn’t normally find. Such then are some aspects of freemasonry. We know that pro-social activity adds greater meaning to our lives. It enables us to strengthen our relationships with family and new found friends, increases our self worth and helps with our mental health. What’s not to like?

The advantages of being a Freemason
So what does a step in the right direction look like for you? Many of the places we might have thought of going have disappeared or are now hard to find. Social clubs, organisations, pubs, sports. There aren’t that many places to easily find a way through; walking into a club or pub and trying to make new relationships is incredibly difficult. Let me suggest giving freemasonry a thought. You’ll likely find yourself with people from the same and different backgrounds, cultures and opinion, of all ages, like-minded people, with similar hopes and ambitions, who you would never ever meet in any other context. People, some of who, will become your closest friends.
